WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER A MAN WITH VAN SERVICE

When we talk about moving, the image that comes to mind is the packing, the heavy lifting, the planning, and all the other big and small tasks that come into play when one needs to move and relocate.

It only follows though, that the most practical step to take would be to hire professionals. But the thing is, many people also want to save money on their move and hiring someone else to help do the job means having to put out more money, which frankly, much more people are unwilling to do.

The thing is, having professionals involved in your moving process may not be really the luxury that you think that it is. Having pros on the job, such as man with van services, can not only help your move become easier and much more efficient, but also a safer one.

One reason is, of course, their professionalism and expertise that they bring to the table. Let’s say you have certain pieces of furniture that are vulnerable and valuable at the same time. Unprofessional and inexperienced handling of these on a move can spell disaster and damage, as compared to having people in the know do the job for you. Man with van outfits are much more experienced in handling and transporting furniture so that your things are in much better hands – at least in the case of a move – than yours.

Safety for your things is also guaranteed by insurance policies that a man with van outfit may enter into, in order to protect themselves as well as their customers and clients. Accidents do happen – especially with do it yourself moves – even when professionals are involved, so they need to offer something in case some unfortunate circumstances occur. And while these untoward incidents do not always happen, it means much more peace of mind for you to know that your things are insured and in good and capable hands.

A man with removal van outfit is also much more practical, because since they are much more experienced and well versed in moving tasks than you ever will be, everything is made much more efficient, saving time, and thus money – you will have to be on leave from work less, and you will have much more time to allot to your other concerns and tasks, moving related and otherwise.

Having professional help is not always a luxury or want, or something born out of sheer laziness. The services they offer can give you good value for your money.

RULE NUMBER 1: GET ORGANIZED WHEN YOU MOVE

There are rules and rules must be followed. If you manage to stick with the rules, you will benefit more than you can imagine.   Getting organized all throughout the move is rule number one. This top rule is not just there to guide you and keep you tracked with your course of actions. If you let rule number one executed, then good results happen.   To make this rule happen, make sure that you are ready to plan ahead of time. Getting organized means jotting down things that should be achieved and accomplished at a specific time. This means, when you pack for instance, you have to know which room to pack first and which would be the last. This also means that you need to have sufficient packing supplies when you pack so that you can put things together in their designated boxes. This will give you easier time when you unpack your stuff.   Part of being organized is labeling. You have to have your inventory list. This will not just for the benefit of the moving company you are hiring but for your own, too.   Plus, when you say you are getting things organized, you should at least have the right knowledge of putting things inside the box properly. Remember that things should always be done deliberately-all the time.

REASONS WHY PEOPLE TRANSFER FROM BIG CITIES TO SMALL TOWNS

The changing environment that we have these days especially the growth in commercial and business industries is undeniably soaring to an appalling degree. One building after the other are being constructed be it a new mall or a new company. These usually take place in towns which paved way to an increase in the number of people transferring from countries to cities and towns.   However, people who get used to city and country life have different and at times opposing view of the other. People from the city usually longs for the simple, uncomplicated, sheltered life in the country while people who have gotten used in the country tends to long for the commercial, busy and crowded city. It may take a few weeks or months to adjust from what they’ve been used to but eventually, the time will come that they will then be used to as well to the kind of life they’ve chosen. There are times however that transfer is not a matter of personal choice but rather a compulsory decision such as when there is a need to transfer because of work, new relationships such as in the case of married couples or simply because of the need to go back to one’s roots.   Either way, it requires moving on and leaving behind what we have been used to. It may shake us emotionally since we will be leaving as well the person who have been part of our life but that’s part of living and learning. What matters is we have a difference on other’s life, in the same way they did to us, be it in our life in the city or in the country.

Schedule Preparation and Organisation

Whilst not the most exciting words to hear, early preparation and reliable organisation can save a LOT of stress when moving day rolls around! You don’t always have a greatest amount of notice thanks to chains etc, so here’s a final month moving house checklist from our experts.

One Month Before Time to finalise removal quotes and choose a house removals team to take care of everything come moving day. Also, begin boxing up smaller and less used items like Christmas decorations, fancy china etc. Mark boxes CLEARLY. As you pack boxes, number them and keep a list record of what’s in each box.

Two Weeks Before This is your primary admin phase in the move. You want to be changing address for things like driving licences, voters’ registration, magazine subscriptions, bank accounts, school records, medical facilities etc.

One Week Before There should only be the bare minimum left to pack, including a “Bare Essentials” box containing things you’ll need for your first night in the new home – clean bedding, towels, kitchen utensils, kettle, tea bags, cups, light bulbs, toilet roll, tools, batteries, power chargers, pet food, a few cleaning agents, torches etc.

One Day Before Charge all electronic bits and bobs and pack away chargers in the morning (in the “Bare Essentials” box) Removals teams are skilled at what they do, but it can help if you make a list of what you’d like access to straight away at your new home. Removals teams LOVE well-labelled boxes, so spend the evening double-checking labels, seals and last minute packing.

Top tips for environmentally-friendly moves

Lessen your environmental impact when moving by limiting the amount of waste that you generate. Packing materials are a big contributor to the environmental impact of a move; however, they are necessary to get the job done.

Simply by being aware of the greener options and choices you have when it comes to packing materials, you can plan and achieve a greener move, and even save some money along the way!

1. Reuse cardboard boxes

You can reuse cardboard boxes and other packaging materials, such as bubble wrap and packing paper. If you have saved the boxes for your larger items and electronics, then these are ideal, as they are likely to come with the appropriate internal packaging to protect the items as well.

Check the durability of boxes, making sure that there are no weak spots. Ask family and friends for their used boxes and materials ahead of your move.

There are now a number of online suppliers of used cardboard boxes. If you need to purchase new packing boxes, choose products made from recycled material. Also, look out for cartons that are glued rather than stapled, as gluing makes them 100% biodegradable. The higher-quality, double-walled boxes tend to be much more robust, so these may be reused after your move.

2. Try reusable plastic crates

Plastic packing crates or containers present an environmentally-sustainable option, as they are 100% reusable, so waste is drastically limited. Reusable containers do not require packing tape, something that can’t be recycled and takes a very long time to decompose. Crates may purchased outright or hired by the week.

When hiring packing crates, they are normally delivered and collected by the supplier from local depots. Crates are easily stackable with lockable lids, offering durable storage and security throughout your move – perfect also if your belongings are going into storage.

3. Limit the quantity of packing material used

The less stuff you have to move, the less packing material you’ll need. Achieve this by getting rid of unwanted things before your move. Certain items may be suitable for sale, so e-Bay is a good option here.

If you want to sell more locally, posting adverts in your local paper, local online networks, your work noticeboard, or local shops can be effective. Alternatively, you could hold a garage sale or car boot sale. Other items could be donated to local charities or to friends, relatives or neighbours.

Just stopping to think about the waste that you could be creating as a result of your move, and the steps that you could take to limit it, is a good starting point.

In the end, the best course of action you can follow for a greener move is to do the best that you can do with the resources that you have.

Spare Rooms to Earn Almost £23 Million during London Olympics

Households in London near the Olympic site could earn almost £23 million during the Olympics next year. This will be a green shoot for everyone looking to earn an extra few pennies during these tough times. Homeowners will see rental demand increase on spare rooms during the Olympics next year.

It is thought that up to 23,000 homeowners have a either a spare room in their current property or a room that they only use for storage. During the Olympics these rooms will be utilised as they have good rental value for anyone who is only looking for a short term let.

According to Government data, the rental value for these rooms during the Olympic Games could reach up to £1000 per week. This is more than some of the properties will make in a month in a normal calendar. This is very appealing for the landlords who intend on taking full advantage during a time when the rents have gone down compared to last year because of all the new flats that are being built.

It is thought that more than 10% of these homeowners only actually ever use their spare rooms once every 3 months. This is due to work commitments and family homes outside London. Therefore this is an ideal opportunity for them to earn an extra income especially as their current rooms or properties are not being used.

Ashley from http://www.removalmarket.co.uk who are a removal quotes comparison site and help provide free removal quotes to clients around the London area have said: “We plan to see a rise of almost 400% in the enquiries for Removals in and around London during this busy period”.

Anthony Chenery, from Big Yellow Self Storage, said: “We have definitely seen a significant rise in inquiries for short lets of smaller self storage rooms for next June, particularly in the stores closest to the key Olympics sites and with good transport links to London’s top attractions.”

Although it has been advised that anyone looking to let their room or property out during the Olympics should inform their mortgage company and check their insurances to make sure they are covered. The last thing as a homeowner that you would want is for a short term tenant to create problems in a property and end up doing more damage than good in the long run. It is therefore vital that all relevant insurances are put in place.
