OFFICE REMOVAL CHECKLIST

Moving Office Checklist

If your planning on moving your business to a new office then congratulations, this must mean business is going well.  I expect there will be excitement within the office but also worries about how the actual move will affect your business services.  With a bit of planning and hiring the right moving company you should be able to move offices with the minimum of disruption. Here at Pickdropgo Van and Man we are fully aware of the differences between moving domestic household goods compared to moving office equipment.

Early Planning

To ensure the move goes as swiftly as possible it will be worth drafting a moving plan. The more planning you do early on will make the move go a lot more efficiently. Have a think about which staff member is best for each job.  For instance if you have an IT expert within your office, he or she should be in charge of packing and moving the computer equipment.  It would help if there was someone in charge of coordinating the move on the actual day of moving.

Things to Remember

Address change: Think about how the actual address change will affect your business. Have the changes of letter headed paper and other stationary sorted out before you move.  Box it up and label the box so when you unpack at the new office you can find all the new stationary quickly and efficiently.

Update the address on the company website.  One thing that is often overlooked is arranging to have the address of your company changed on other websites.  If you’re listed in local business directories you will need to contact these websites and ask for the address to be changed.

Don’t forget to tell the appropriate companies of your address change.  Local governments, insurance companies, cleaners, gardeners and suppliers are just some of the people who will need to be informed.

And don’t forget to tell all your clients.

Arrange Disconnection/Reconnection

Remember to arrange the disconnection and then re-connections of things such as electricity, telephone, mail services, mobile phones, pagers and fax machines.

SAFETY TIPS WHEN BOOKING A VAN AND MAN SERVICE

Do you want to move to a new house without stress and hassle?  Then get a van and man service that will help you pack and move your belongings.

It is always advisable to book for a moving service in advance.  Contact the moving company as early as possible so that you can get an accurate estimate of the cost of removal.  The van and man service will take a look at the items you want to move and will assess how much you have to pay.

De-clutter Before You the Assessment

Obviously, you will leave behind or throw some things away when you move.  In order to ensure that the moving company will not overestimate the load, you need to de-clutter first before the assessment.

If you will not de-clutter, you might get a van that is too big for the load.  The removal service therefore will become more expensive.  If the removers underestimated the load, you might find yourself paying extra for the additional trips.

Closely Supervise the Packing

A removal company can help pack your things.  This service will take the burden from you and would be very convenient.  However, allowing the removers to pack your belongings has some risk also.  Make sure that the removal company can be trusted.  You should also closely supervise the job to ensure that nothing can be taken from you.

You should pack sensitive and highly valuable items by yourself.  So you need to specify to the removers what items they should pack.  To further protect your property, you should make an inventory of the things you need to move and take photos of the content of each box.

Hire a Removal Company with Comprehensive Insurance

The majority of home removal companies are consummate professionals.  They will do everything to protect your property and will ensure safe packing and transport.  However, mishaps and accidents may happen during the removal job.

It would be best if the removal company can show proof of insurance.  Closely inspect the business insurance of the service and make sure that it has sufficient coverage.  Damage to belongings can set you back by several thousands.  You have to make sure that you can claim for damages from the insurance of the service provider.

So if you are planning to book a removal man service, carefully check the trustworthiness of the company and make sure that it has sufficient coverage for damages and lost items.

WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER A MAN WITH VAN SERVICE

When we talk about moving, the image that comes to mind is the packing, the heavy lifting, the planning, and all the other big and small tasks that come into play when one needs to move and relocate.

It only follows though, that the most practical step to take would be to hire professionals. But the thing is, many people also want to save money on their move and hiring someone else to help do the job means having to put out more money, which frankly, much more people are unwilling to do.

The thing is, having professionals involved in your moving process may not be really the luxury that you think that it is. Having pros on the job, such as man with van services, can not only help your move become easier and much more efficient, but also a safer one.

One reason is, of course, their professionalism and expertise that they bring to the table. Let’s say you have certain pieces of furniture that are vulnerable and valuable at the same time. Unprofessional and inexperienced handling of these on a move can spell disaster and damage, as compared to having people in the know do the job for you. Man with van outfits are much more experienced in handling and transporting furniture so that your things are in much better hands – at least in the case of a move – than yours.

Safety for your things is also guaranteed by insurance policies that a man with van outfit may enter into, in order to protect themselves as well as their customers and clients. Accidents do happen – especially with do it yourself moves – even when professionals are involved, so they need to offer something in case some unfortunate circumstances occur. And while these untoward incidents do not always happen, it means much more peace of mind for you to know that your things are insured and in good and capable hands.

A man with removal van outfit is also much more practical, because since they are much more experienced and well versed in moving tasks than you ever will be, everything is made much more efficient, saving time, and thus money – you will have to be on leave from work less, and you will have much more time to allot to your other concerns and tasks, moving related and otherwise.

Having professional help is not always a luxury or want, or something born out of sheer laziness. The services they offer can give you good value for your money.

ARE YOU GETTING THE BEST FROM YOUR MAN & VAN SERVICE

Moving can be a real pain especially if you will do all the work by yourself.  To make your life easier, you should get a reliable man and van service that can help you move without hassle.

A removal van service can offer great assistance for you.  In fact, you will be very thankful that you have hired a man with a van service because the majority of your work will be taken from you.  Most important of all, a top notch man with van service will always show up on time thus eliminating the stress and worries of moving.

It is true that your friends and family can help you move.  But do take note that removing heavy objects and transporting them require experience.  Aside from the fact that you will be exposing your friends to health risks by compelling them to lift heavy objects, you are also risking your valuable possessions because improper removal could damage your property.

The Big Benefits of Hiring a Removal Van

Professional removal services can provide you with the right removal van.  It does not matter whether you have a big or small removal project, you will certainly get the right removal van that is perfect for your needs.

A moving service also has enough personnel who can assist you on the day when you need to move.  The service provides extra hands and muscles to make your move as painless and effortless as possible.

You can have just one assistant for a small moving project or several people to accomplish bigger tasks.  In the end, you will be able to save much time and effort so that you can move even without breaking a sweat.

A Practical Tip to Saving Money on Man with a Van

Some people are afraid to hire a removal service because they think that it would be expensive.  There is no need to worry though because most man with a van services are really quite affordable.  But if you want to save more money, then here is what you need to do.

You have to schedule your move on a weekday.  Remember that most people normally schedule their moving projects during weekends.  So the demand for removal vans and personnel would be greater on weekends. This is why moving companies charge premium rates.

If you schedule your move during off-peak days, you will surely get a big discount from the man and van hire service.

RULE NUMBER 1: GET ORGANIZED WHEN YOU MOVE

There are rules and rules must be followed. If you manage to stick with the rules, you will benefit more than you can imagine.   Getting organized all throughout the move is rule number one. This top rule is not just there to guide you and keep you tracked with your course of actions. If you let rule number one executed, then good results happen.   To make this rule happen, make sure that you are ready to plan ahead of time. Getting organized means jotting down things that should be achieved and accomplished at a specific time. This means, when you pack for instance, you have to know which room to pack first and which would be the last. This also means that you need to have sufficient packing supplies when you pack so that you can put things together in their designated boxes. This will give you easier time when you unpack your stuff.   Part of being organized is labeling. You have to have your inventory list. This will not just for the benefit of the moving company you are hiring but for your own, too.   Plus, when you say you are getting things organized, you should at least have the right knowledge of putting things inside the box properly. Remember that things should always be done deliberately-all the time.

MAN WITH VAN 3 ESSENTIAL CONSIDERATIONS WHEN RELOCATING

Relocating to a new place is really fun and exciting.  However, along with the excitement and fun is the fact that it will draw some issues and problems, too.  For this reason, it is a must that when you relocate, you should think about these essential things:

1.    Make sure that the new house is closer to the workplace.  This is more often one of the pressing problems that moving out people encounter.  All you need to do (for this problem to be eliminated), is to find a place that is closer to the workplace or better yet, have it built somewhere in the vicinity.
2.    Make sure that there is an available transport means in the area.  Not all the time that you will be able to bring your car with you.  It is suggested that you check out the transport means in the area first prior to making the decision.
3.    Make sure that your family’s needs are considered.  Remember that you are not moving alone.  You are moving with your family and your family has needs, also.  Your children will need to go to school and your wife will also be required to do some weekly marketing.

In order to have a successful and hassle free relocation, think about all these things to consider.

Top tips for environmentally-friendly moves

Lessen your environmental impact when moving by limiting the amount of waste that you generate. Packing materials are a big contributor to the environmental impact of a move; however, they are necessary to get the job done.

Simply by being aware of the greener options and choices you have when it comes to packing materials, you can plan and achieve a greener move, and even save some money along the way!

1. Reuse cardboard boxes

You can reuse cardboard boxes and other packaging materials, such as bubble wrap and packing paper. If you have saved the boxes for your larger items and electronics, then these are ideal, as they are likely to come with the appropriate internal packaging to protect the items as well.

Check the durability of boxes, making sure that there are no weak spots. Ask family and friends for their used boxes and materials ahead of your move.

There are now a number of online suppliers of used cardboard boxes. If you need to purchase new packing boxes, choose products made from recycled material. Also, look out for cartons that are glued rather than stapled, as gluing makes them 100% biodegradable. The higher-quality, double-walled boxes tend to be much more robust, so these may be reused after your move.

2. Try reusable plastic crates

Plastic packing crates or containers present an environmentally-sustainable option, as they are 100% reusable, so waste is drastically limited. Reusable containers do not require packing tape, something that can’t be recycled and takes a very long time to decompose. Crates may purchased outright or hired by the week.

When hiring packing crates, they are normally delivered and collected by the supplier from local depots. Crates are easily stackable with lockable lids, offering durable storage and security throughout your move – perfect also if your belongings are going into storage.

3. Limit the quantity of packing material used

The less stuff you have to move, the less packing material you’ll need. Achieve this by getting rid of unwanted things before your move. Certain items may be suitable for sale, so e-Bay is a good option here.

If you want to sell more locally, posting adverts in your local paper, local online networks, your work noticeboard, or local shops can be effective. Alternatively, you could hold a garage sale or car boot sale. Other items could be donated to local charities or to friends, relatives or neighbours.

Just stopping to think about the waste that you could be creating as a result of your move, and the steps that you could take to limit it, is a good starting point.

In the end, the best course of action you can follow for a greener move is to do the best that you can do with the resources that you have.
